Aerial and Underground Endorsement Course

This course we are providing is nationally recognised and forms part of an AQF certification.
Students will have to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy on line assessment (more information here)
as well as successfully complete all the online content before attending class.

This is a four day course that combines four job outcomes
as well as enabling a trainee to apply for an Underground and Aerial Endorsement on their Open Registration

1.    Install Pit and Pipe Systems
2.    Conduct Cable Hauling
3.    Intsall aerial structures
4.    Install aerial cable

This course is designed for experienced cablers who hold an Open Registration or for civil workers looking to work on the NBN. This course covers:

• Australian Regulatory Environment
• Cabling Practices to S009:2013
• Underground Installation Practices
• Aerial Installation Practices
• NBN Standards

Outcome

On successful completion of these courses, participants will be awarded the following Nationally Recognised Competencies:

Pit & Pipe

• ICTCBL213 Construct underground telecommunications infrastructure
• ICTCBL307 Install underground enclosures and conduit

Cable Hauling

• ICTCBL207 Haul underground cable
• ICTCBL308 Install underground cable

Aerial Cabling

• ICTCBL309 Construct aerial cable supports
• ICTCBL310 Install aerial cable

Successful completion of these units allows a technician holding an Open Registration to apply for an Underground and Aerial Endorsement. See ACMA Website (page 11).

to issue you with your Statement of Attainment

Delivery

4 Full Days 8:00am - 4:30 pm

Practical:

• Installation of telecommunications pits
• Installation of conduit
• Installation of aerial supports
• Installation of aerial cable
• Hauling communications cable
• Rodding

Assessments include:

• Knowledge Based Tests
• Practical Assessments
• Verbal Questioning

Students must provide their own:

• students must be appropriately dressed with closed in boots
• sunglasses
• sun protection (sunscreen will be provided where appropriate)
