Online Training for Alarm and CCTV

This course we are providing is nationally recognised and forms part of an AQF certification.
Students will have to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy on line assessment (more information here)
as well as successfully complete all the online content before attending class.

Overview

This online combined intruder and CCTV training course is designed to give the student the knowledge to successfully design install and maintain an alarm or IP CCTV system for a domestic or small commercial installation.

Who can attend?

This online course is for experienced technicians only.

Students will have to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy on line assessment (more information here) as well as successfully complete all the online content before attending class. (No Exceptions). This course is not for new entrants to industry as it is set at a level that assumes the student is from a related technical industry such as a telecommunications technician or technical security technician or electrician.

Before beng accepted onto a workshop you will be required to answer a number of questions on a work experience declaration form, including but not limited to:

1. What is your current job 
2. Why do you want to do this online course rather than the full time course?
3. How many year’s experience have you had in the industry?
4. Explain the equipment you have worked on
5. What tools have you used

Your answers to these questions will be used to assess your suitability to attend this course
Please note if you attend the course and our assessor deems that you do not have the industry skill level required, we will review your experience declaration form and discuss options and additional costs with you.

Course units

Intruder Alarm Course

  • CPPSEC2021A - Install security equipment and systems
  • CPPSEC2026A - Perform routine maintenance on security equipment and system

Assessments include:

  • Online knowledge based test
  • Practical demonstrations and observations such as install and test and alarm system, perform maintenance. 
  • Activities which may include completing documentation, verbal questioning, simulation or a range of other assessment methods. 

Course Delivery

There are two parts to completing this course:

  1. Online content plus online assessments
  2. Practical assessment at one of our national training centres

You will re quired to attend one of our training centres for two days
These two days are the assessment days that form part of a normal five day course

Day 1    (Wednesday)  Assessments for the intruder alarm course
Day 2    (Friday) Assessments for the CCTV course

Enrolling in this course

  2. Click on the schedule tab and register in your applicable state
  3. Please note: you will need to have the following information to enrol, USI Number, identification such as a driver`s license and proof of residency such as a passport or medicare card
  4. Once the enrolment details have been submitted a member of the team will be in touch
  5. You will be required to do a short Language, Literacy and Numeracy test,
  6. Once you have completed the online units you will need to contact us and we will let you know the dates of the assessment days in your state.

Cost $1000 - No GST

Recommendations

An applicable cabling Registration is required to install Security Cabling under the ACMA Cabling Provider Rules. 
To install IP enabled CCTV systems an Open Registration is required.
